Ok, I admit, its pretty stupid. I tried to 'touch up' a worn g10 handle on a BM 721 by painting it with ... black nail polish! Now it is shiny, and slippery as hell. How can I strip this stuff off?

Nail polish remover which has acetone in it. Use the protein enriched kind that way the g10 will be healthy

yeah guys, I tried polish remover, but of course g10 surface is textured, not smooth, didn't help too much in removing, hence the question above.

Sorry bud but I couldn't resist!:D Besides, there may have been just the slightest chance you might not have thought about it.:)

Seriously though, you might try the remover again but this time scrub the handles with a stiff bristled brush. An old tooth brush perhaps? I think though, no matter what you try short of bead blasting; you are gunna have a heck of a time getting it off.

Good luck.

If you don't already have it, go to the hardware store and get wet dry sandpaper in 220 and 320. Lightly sand the handle to get the look and texture you want. You can go finer, or coarser I suppose. I've been really happy with a 320 grit finish for working knives with linen micarta, and G10 is fairly similar to finish from my limited experience.
Wear a mask or something to avoid breathing the dust. Its bad news.
