how to tell if HEST is ESEE

I have found several HEST knives at several dealers and I only want the one the is covered by ESEE. I am not sure if DPX is making a HEST again or not but how do I make sure it is a ROWEN made HEST. Every Hest I have seen does not have ROWEN on the tang.

As far as I know the only HEST"S made so far, have been made by Rowen, and distributed be ESEE. There are future plans for the HEST to be made by another company(Lion Steel I think) but they have not been made yet, to my knowledge. So if you find one it should say ESEE on it.
 
All the ones I am seeing say HEST near the rear pry bar, DPX on one side and I believe RYP on the other side.
 
Great blades by the way. I own 2 of them. They won't say Rowen on them either.

Well they were listed as ESEE Hest knives so my order is placed with chestnut ridge.
 
If you can find one in stock, don't worry, it's an ESEE version. I don't belive the new versions have even been made just yet. You could go and check the DPX forum for more info.

I think the one that has H.E.S.T. on the pry bar and not ESEE USA is the one made prior to changing name from RAT to ESEE. And I read that the next batch to be made by someone else might be TOPS.
 
That is the same knife front and back there was only 1 made so far....and it was made bt ESEE

I believe rowen manufactures both esee and tops.
 
no rowen dosnt make tops, they did years ago but havn't for a long time.

Not with ESSE Thanks. I thought maybe they were still involved.

J so you know in the future they I believe are involved with dpx and the new hest.....to come not produced yet................
 
No ROWEN is still going to be doing ESEE's work , TOPS will be DPX's work on the fixed blade
 
There were a lot of HEST knives produced with R.A.T. instead of ESEE on the end to.
 
The only way to really tell is to feed it after midnight and see if it turns into a Becker. ;)
