Howling Rat v.s. Bandicoot

I just can't decide. I see posts about both, and they look identical except for the blade width. I must be missing something as to the intended audience for each. Are there any strong preferences of one over the other? I tend toward the Rat, although this is strictly aesthetics. Does the "thinner width" buy much more in terms of efficiency?

Opinions, please!

Hello Swede,
Generally when I get emails after people have received the HR and the Bandicoot they lean toward the HR as a knife that is slightly more suited to hunting and general outdoors. The Bandicoot general utility and backup self defense.

However, this is just a general comment. I've used my HR for nearly everything and it has taken up its position as an EDC for me.

Hope this helps.

:D:D

Swede,

Howdy! I agree with Eric, 100%. I own the Bandicoot, and have played with the HR....The bandicoot is something I have on my belt 100% when I'm at my folks ranch. Weather it's helping with the haybales and feedbags, to slicing in the kitchen, the Bandicoot is tops. For EDC, it would be great, especially with a OnSite Tactical Kydex sheath, so you could carry it tip up.....I'm going to buy a HR as well, it would be a great hunting/camping knife for sure. There really is only one answer though, and that's to get both!

Thanks for the info, guys! Wilco, I was afraid someone was going to say that... :D

I'm still waiting on a CT to decide whether or not I will like this brand. ;)

Swede,

You won't find a better knife, warranty, or customer service. The Busse/Swamprat people are the best.

I believe you. I'm gettin' kind of itchy to do some cutting/chopping. All the great reviews I've seen aren't helping my inherent lack of patience...
