How's Bura doing?

No news. We tried to call Pala but he was out at Bir hospital with yet another emergency case but not Bura.

Hope it isn't serious and Bura and the other person recover quickly and are up and around to their old selves...
 
Here's some good and bad news. Called Pala yesterday and he said only two guys showed up for work -- Bura and Sanu. All the rest are down with dysentary. Recent floods contaminated water supply and kamis won't boil the water or put chlorine or iodine in it (tastes bad!) so the result is dysentary.
 
Sorry to hear about the dysentary, it IS an endemic part of life there especially with heavy rains.
Hope everyone gets better soon.
 
Last time I used such tablets, they contained some sort of iodine compund. And it looks like from reading this thread that they don't like the taste of iodine or chlorine... :(

As for me, I'll take the chemical taste anytime vs. :barf: (from either end)
 
The kamis won't use anything for water purification. Boiling and filtering is expensive and time consuming. A few drops of chlorox or iodine makes the water taste bad. So they live with the consequences -- and some even die with them.
