Part 1 of the humble Hawk Project Update, Cont'd.
Inspired by the most powerful conventional explosive in the world, the Daisy Cutter's Purpose-Built Bomb-Poll gives notice.
"I am what opens the Can of Whoop-Ass." Just add one little drop of Warrior Attitude.
Weighing 16.1 Ounces, the Daisy Cutter Head is well within the range of a Proper Tomahawk Head (for reference, a Cold Steel Stock Trail Hawk head usually weighs 14 - 15 Ounces), but has characteristics that a knife-edged tomahawk lacks usually.
This tool head wants to see battle - even the top profile resembles an RPG. Regardless of that, the Daisy Cutter should prove to be a great field tool, since its geometry will help splitting chores more than other hawks, while still weighing much less than a good splitting maul, no longer requiring an outdoorsman to risk his knife batoning in the cold, etc.
Each edge on the Daisy Cutter was designed in relation to each other, at optimum spans and relative angles, and with masses placed in relation to the edges and poll to increase their physical attributes without the need for huge weight gains. An example of this design philosophy is the solid rail of material along the head's axis, shown below - note that it aligns to the lead edge and the poll. This has more advantages than what probably immediately comes to the knowledgeable viewer's mind.
Like its little brother, the
ECO Hawk, the Daisy Cutter is user-modifiable, and a haft can be improvised,
however, we intend to make a vectorized handle for the head as standard equipment. The head will perform well on just about any field-improvised handle, but we have two concept families that we want to try in a composite option. When I designed the Daisy Cutter, it was not to just make another pretty hatchet or hawk or axe - it was to start heading for the future, as our tooling and resources allowed us.
I intend to have Daisy Cutters on
straight and reflexed handles, as well as on
Sectional Handles ASAP.
Current developments indicate that that is a reasonable expectation.
(oo-RAGHhh!!!)
Tools will be mountable on the hawk. Heads will be couple-able
(if that's a word) to make a
32 Ounce Battle Axe, and much more.
For those like myself here, who are
Battle-Axe-O-Holics, please try to keep the delicious thought of a splittable Battle Axe out of your minds until the update is over.
I forgot what I was saying when I started to think of the
chopolicious goodness of the Daisy Cutter in Battle Axe Mode -
oh yeah -
We have struggled and gotten our teeth knocked out, our knees skinned, and our toes stubbed over and over again, trying to grow this, the
humble Hawk Project.
It has been a miraculous three year journey that has gone by as quickly as a wonderful summer's day, and none of this would've been possible without you the Investors, both current and future, and for the prayers and other help we have gotten.
We will not forget that we owe you all.
More good stuff has happened, and faster than we could've dreamed.
Some incredible news concerning
the Hawk Project and
future objectives came in
today, in fact.
More update to come in a bit, including some new
Mk V hawks showcased, more
Daisy Cutter facts, and other goodies.
Thanks for your time and attention, brethren.
