Hypothetical:One car

With the recent muscle car thread , I thought I'd ask a hypothetical question:
If you were given one car for the next 2 years to be your exclusive car, any year/make/model/cost, what would you choose? You couldn't sell it and would have to pay for gas and maintanence.

Well, my choice of car, would be a truck. In fact, it would be the vehicle that I AM currently driving. It is an '06 Toyota Tundra, Double Cab, Limited, with TRD Off Road Package.

Even if I was filthy rich, I would still keep my Tundra. I love this truck!!

Well.....
I already played this game only I'm gonna have to stick with my choice for alot more than 2 years :)

Bought a 2006 F350 awhile back. Its a diesel, manual shift 4WD, and 6 speed manual transmission. Pretty much my ideal truck for work and play.

I suppose if someone else were footing the bill, I might have made it a dually, and maybe added an extended cab, but I'm really happy with it like it is.

Only downside is since I DID have to foot the bill it will be more like 10 years instead of 2 before I consider anything else :D

I have three vehicles but I only drive my F150, so I guess that's the one I would choose.

96 chevy k1500 silverado extended cab. it's been my only "car" since june '96 and I'll keep it ten more years if she keeps going good for me.

I couldn't get to work without a truck. My '94 F15 is getting up there in mileage, so I'd like a truck that was newer and with a more powerful engine. So my hypothetical 'perfect' truck:

F250 Super Duty
SuperCab
4x4
Gasoline, not diesel
decent option package, like XLT or Eddie Bauer
Stick shift
low, sleek camper shell
Red!

My car right now is awesome ,my civic SIR is fast cheap ,good mileage sharp looking and has the storage space of a minivan. I actually moved in it.
Standards rule.
I would like a beater early 90's F150 with a 5.0 standard and a 2wd for winter
and offroad.

I'll keep the one I have :D

I'd take a *new* condition '88 Pontiac Fiero GT and drive the crap out of it! I had one in highschool (well, I have one now too, but it just sits as I never restored it) and it was great... For now I drive a '96 Explorer w/ a V8, and its the most practical (aside from mileage) vehicle I've ever owned.

Wow...that is hard. I'm guessing we are going for more practical cars, since driving a Ferrari in traffic to and from work everyday would be a PITA.

I'll for with a 1995 Nissan 240SX. I've never needed more than 2 seats and a trunk in my car...I DO NOT give people rides.

KA24DE-T or built SR20 swap...prefer the KA though. Wouldn't mind some SUBTLE body mods, a good drop and basic performance upgrades that go along with a turbo.

I say this because I drive a 93' Altima GXE, completely stock. Reliable engine, but the car's styling leaves a lot to be desired. It's fully loaded, everything power, great shape and all...but I jsut don't like the flow of the body. The 240 takes it to the next level, I love the way it looks and it's RWD. Just need DOHC version of the KA24E (Altima's KA24DE) and a turbo kit.

^ Just make sure you get the Ariel Atom 2...with the Ecotec, it has more power up until the top engine which matches the 300 hp from the blown Civic, but makes more power throughout the entire rev range and has 87 more lbs-ft of torque.

Wonder where Carbine1 lives that he could use the Atom year-round as basic transportation.

I have a convertible that, unlike the Atom, has a windshield and heater. Anything below 50-degrees and it stays parked. But I guess it all depends on how much you want to bundle up...

I've never needed more than 2 seats and a trunk in my car...I DO NOT give people rides.
I've never bought a 4-door car in my life, and I never will. Anyone who wants to bitch about having to climb into the back seat can take the damn bus. Not an issue anyway, since my current car doesn't even have a back seat... And there are no busses here. :D

I've often said should I somehow become obscenely wealthy by whatever farfetched means, like winning the lottery,etc...that though my lifestyle would probably change in any number of ways, I would still be driving my Toyota Tundra.
Well, maybe I'd buy a brand new one:)

I could live with an Atom since most of my driving is long distance and alone. I would go for an Opel Corsa 1.7 CTDI.

Good cruising speed. Excellent range, Excellent pull, Can load entire family when I do want to travel........ Handling excellent. Safety excellent. Nice to drive.

If that happened to me, I'd still own a truck too, but it would be a Lincoln Mark LT. :)

It would be a plain and boring econobox.

I would need something that wouldn't be worth stealing (or at least not more so than anything else), and something that would get good mileage.

Split decision:

1) Porsche 911 Turbo Tiptronic.

No, there's not a lot of utility, but it would be made up for with the massive amount of tail that the Porsche attracts.

Despite not having trunk space, the tiptronic would make it less of a PITA in traffic, and it's AWD if we ever get snow. If i ever have to go on a road trip with a few people, someone else is driving, no big deal.

On second thought, however, I could go with a more practical sport sedan like an M5 or S65 AMG that, while not being quite as awesome or attracting qhite as much tail, still ranks pretty high.
