Hello Mr. Glesser, i am very sorry for how close minded and hard-headed i've been in the post "Spyderco Military, Whats the talk about" in the General knife discussion forum. Earlier today i purchased a Military w/ATS-34 full serr. They didn't have cpm440v, but i will eventually purchase a cpm440v plainedge. The reason i now favor this knife over my AFCK and SOCOM is because 1, the stainless liner will hardly wear out, the 2, pivot pin is huge, 3, its sooooooo light, 4, the g-10 is very strong, you where rite about that, 5, the belly this thing has is awesome, so far i slashed 48 pieces of leather from my old bomber jacket and it still has a great edge, and last, the overall feel of this puppy is terrific. My friend at the Gun shop near me let me do a couple of tests before i bought it, i did speed drills, by this i mean pulling the Military out of my front right pocket and snap the blade open, i did 35-45 of these, the liner didn't where at all, my afck, or stryker would already have play. When i brought the knife home i gave it 6 hard whacks on the spine, the lock held, my SOCOM didn't, great knife, and i am sorry to all i affended, please forgive me, and Sal, keep up the good work....

The nice thing about this is that you were able to keep an open mind and see for yourself what the possibilities were, other than the ones you had already seen.

I'm glad to see that you have seen both the good and the bad sides of the issue now, and especially glad that you've seen that some companies do everything they can to make sure that the End User get's a good product, even if it means completely redesigning it.

My hat's off to rage and Sal both; while this affair was shaky at first, it's nice to see that given the chance people do make changes.

Rage - Welcome to the Spyderco Forum. No apology necessary. We all get to say what we think here. We all get to view and learn.

Actually, sometimes a little "Heat" wakes everyone up a little. I'm proud to part of such a group that can discuss "touchy" issues and maintain control.

I'm also glad that you are getting to appreciate the efforts of our knifemakers here in Golden.

Is this place great or what.

Rage,

You are certainly welcome here as are the opinions you or anyone else shares. That is what separates this type of medium from all others. And this is exactly why I created this place. Have fun and as long as you have an open mind your heart will always follow

! No doubt you'll get some traffic about becoming a member of the erstwhile "Military Man" club of Spydie C36 fanatics. Word still is that a Military Man T-Shirt is a definate possibility.

Now I suggest you go to the Knife Review area and check out Dexter Ewing's thread on the mighty Moran

rage,
Glad to see you around. Apology definitely accepted. We are all a bunch of hard heads around here sometimes. A lot of the reaction that you got stems from past problems on internet knife BBS's. I'm going to have to go buy me a Military soon, I think that I'm getting Military fever! The most imporstan thing to me is that we all enjoy, play with, test, use, collect, buy , trade, sell, covet, make, manufacture, fondle, dream about, sharpen, and use knives! (I guess I should probably include cut ourselves but then that is never intentional!

).

I am new to these forums and feel that i have made a couple of friends here. That means a lot to me since I have recently moved to a city where I know almost no one. Oh yeah, RATM rocks, though I am an old school punk myself (wouldn't know from lookin at me). Black Flag, DK's, Minor Threat, Misfits, Ramones, etc rock this house while I sharpen my knives!

It never ceases to amaze me that the people who frequent this forum are willing to learn and/or to teach depending on the circumstances.
The reason I continue to cruise the forum is to learn, interact and if possible pass on what little I may know.
Now and then I enjoy a good controversy if it is done with temperance and maturity.
My hat is off to all who showed themselves to be mature and openminded.
Danelle and Sal, I respect all that you do for myself and the others who own and use your products. To a large degree you are the reason that I for one continue to purchase and use your products.
Rage, once again my hat is off to you for knowing when you went to far and admitting to it as well as apologizing.
I, for one look forward to many years of correspondance with one and all.
Again my apologies for being a bit long in the tooth.
