I just got my brand new CR Shadow IV. As soon as I got home, I opened the box and dropped it on the garage floor.:-( Luckily, I guess, the only thing I damaged was the buttcap. Where can I get another, how much, and how fast?

Check CRK website. Price $9.75 for 4 inch blade and $12.75 for larger blades. With credit card you could probably get it a couple days. I bet Anne will give you the straight dope on this. She's really been on top of things lately!

As long as you're going to get another butt cap, you might want to consider an aftermarket one. I have been using a Floyd Byrd Randall style cap on my various Chris Reeve knives for many years with great results. See the attached scan for what it looks like on a Shadow IV. I would love to have a Chris Reeve made buttcap of similar size in tool steel.

BTW, you are lucky it went down cap first - we have the odd chip in the concrete floor at the workshop from similar fumbles!!
