It has been about 2 years since my last Custom 110 purchase, so I was just horsing around with the 110 mix 'n match page. I thought, 'what would a good 'user' 110 look like. So, I chose S30V for the blade, as it is a good tough all around steel. I don't have an Oak 110, so Oak was elected for the inserts. Nickel has never really done anything for me, so Brass with rivets (I always have rivets) was the selection.

I sat there looking at the creation and thought, 'dang that looks good'! The Brass nicely picks up the warmth of the Oak and the rivets look like they belong with the Oak too. The next thing I knew, I hit the 'add to cart' button, threw a hat in for good measure and paid for it all.

Buck ain't dumb. They knew that guys like me are bound to play around on those 'create a knife' pages and be drawn like a moth to a flame. Next time, I am going to exercise some discipline. *That Heritage Walnut sure looked good too.* :o:D

A.P.F., can't wait to see your new Custom Buck Knife... It's going to be sweet... I like oak and rivets too... ITE ...:thumbup::thumbup:

That should make for a beautiful user!!!!! Don't feel too bad, that page on their site has sold more than one knife that way. :D

Heh, pretty much, Tony. We are all just pawns in that great, knife chess game that Buck plays so well. :)

Yeah, that's one of my favorite pages in the whole wide world, congrats!!

Thanks, Grim!

Thanks, Jim. Ya, I have always been a sucker for that page and a sucker for your excellent pics as well. I guess that I should be thankful that a 112 isn't offered as a Custom Shoppe choice. I would be completely 'hooped'. :D

APF, I like the looks of oak or walnut as well. DM

I am not sure, David, but I think it was one of your pics that was the best display of Walnut that I have ever seen.
