I finally got a store and fondled a Delica 4. A Delica 4 and/or Endura 4 was kind of on the list before, but now it's a definite must-have. :D Probably 2 or 3 of each.... I also played with the 75mm Persian. That thing is much more impressive in person than the picture had led me to believe. The only real bad part was the store was selling the Delica 4 for $80 :eek: I thought the MSRP was only ~68. I'm all for supporting local stores, but that's a bit too rich.
 
$80 for the Delica 4 is a crime. Was it the FRN model? If so it's even worse. I would have been oersonally offended by that price.
 
Yeah, it was just a regular PE FRN model. I wonder how many they move at that price? :rolleyes:

A guy used to do that in Hopkins, MN. As of couple months ago he is no longer in business.
 
What the heck, try to bargain with him. You never know, it might work if you ask. It's always nice to be able to support your local stores if possible. Maybe you can help him see the light of day. It's worth a shot.

Otherwise he'll probably close or stop carrying Spyderco's and you'll lose the chance to check them out in person before you purchase.

The worse he can say is NO and then it's off to the net!
 
Even if you do bargain him down to a reasonable price, you'll still know your supportion someone who has ripped off countless people who can't bargain. There's no excuse for selling above MSRP.

True, true.

But you might also get him to see the errors of his ways and save everyone in the community in the long run. And still get to play with the knives in person before you buy them.

Bargain down to what? MSRP ???? :eek: Forget this guy. There are too many honest sellers out there (including most brick and mortar shops).

Call up New Graham or one of the other big established net sellers and pay less than MSRP for having a new Delica delivered to your door.

Anyway .. my 2 cents.

I'm with Razzierb on this one. There is no place to go in a bargin when they start off at such a crazy price. Don't waste your breath trying to make a deal with this joker. I have seen this all too often at gunshows. Some guy is asking three times what a gun is worth with the hope that he will get twice what it is worth. These people just don't get it. They may sell a gun once in a blue moon but most of the time, I see them at every gunshow dragging the same old guns around.

$80 for a Delica? Who does he think he is fooling? You can get one for $45 shipped without even looking. In order to bargin with this guy, you would have to start at about $10.00 to get him to come down to about $50. He would probably throw you out of the store if you offered $10.00 or at least get mad at you. It is not worth the hassle.
