Well as I have said before I EDC my RC-3 but last week I had to buy a tan RC-4. I recieved it from New Graham the next day just as expected and was very impressed with the overall design and general good looks of the knife. Then you know I was thinking I paid less than a hundred bucks for this thing and it is really a hell of a knife for the money. So I spent about 30 minutes figuring out how I was going to carry the sheath and I decided to use the MOLLE locks and carry it horizontally across the front of my belt. The next day my buddy and I went hand-fishing and I took it with me. This required the knife to be in freshwater for about two hours as we were wading around and catching fish, then a hour and a half car-ride home. I ended up not using it because we did not have the best of luck. When I got home I expected there to be some rust however there was none. I know that saltwater would have been a totally different story. Yesterday I used it out in the yard and I have to say even though it probably is not the best EDC knife it is definitely a hell of a medium outdoors knife and I would not hesistate to take it anywhere. I am very impressed with this knife. I don't know how you guys sell such a fantastic, American made knife at the price you do. A strop and a cautionary rub down with a tuf-cloth and this thing will last forever.

Obviously, neither Rowen Manufacturing or RAT Cutlery is making a lot of money doing what we're doing but we are making a profit, although not large by any stretch. The current gas prices (freight) and material prices are killing us though. I see a slight price increase on the horizon. At least enough to cover our increased costs. For example, the laser cutter just went up about 50 cents per blank on us. All material, from handles to screws have seen a price increase and we've just been absorbing those increases for a while and not passing them on to the customer. We were hoping to hold off until SHOT Show to do any type of price increase but we're going to have to see how that goes.

I will still be buying them regardless of the price. They are damn fine knives.

+1 to that!!

When I recieved my RC-4 and then my RC-3 I actually thought they were a bit underpriced for what you recieve(not that I'm complaining a bit!!) but that is why I'm 99% sure I will own pretty much anything RC comes out with!

I'm in the trucking business and we've had to increase our prices a few times to keep up with increased fuel, tire, oil, etc.., prices to still eek out a profit ecspecially when coupled with the downturn in the residential and commercial construction. You guys turn out a quality product at an exceptional price and a "slight" increase in price, hell even a more than "slight" increase, is totally understandable and probably overdue! Keep up the great work guys!!!

We're going to do our best to suck up any additional costs for a while. Even though we're pure Capitalists, we also believe that consumers should always be able to buy at the best prices possible. Trust me, if we start losing money then we will go up on the price. The only thing taking a hit right now is our profit margin and we've just buckled ourselves down to accept that hit for a while. Rowen and RAT's philosophy is that we will make up in volume what we lose in margin. A lot of our business is law enforcement and having been in that profession (and about to be back in it on a volunteer basis) I know that most cops don't make a lot of money. With all the increases in every day items that are happening, we want to make sure that cops and other knife users can still afford to buy our product. We just appreciate each and every customer we have, and want to give you the best prices possible.

I love my RC line up and I am a very loyal customer... price increase are to be expected sooner or later,it is the nature of the beast with all the different variables you have to deal with.

I just have to chime in and agree that even with a price increase, these knives are worth it. I just bought a RC-3 off a forum member and it is amazing! Keep up the good work and THANK YOU!
