I met a person off of an auction site, and I built up a very nice friendship with the person, and found out that this person has a huge knife collection, part of them being balisong's.
I asked this person to send me pics of the balisongs that was in the collection and these were the pics I received:
1st pic I received:These are the two best, the one closest to the sheath has a bead blasted finish on the blade and handles. The one next to it has really thick handles and is a nice bali,I was surprised when I noticed that it was part of the international series.

2nd pic I received:

Last pic(2 phillipine original balisong's and 1 international series tanto bali):not a very good pic but the one on the left is the "original balisong" with the nylon sheath and there's another one behind it still in the wooden box, both of these are like brand new, they haven't even been broken in yet.And the one on the right is the international series tanto with the slotted handles. These handles feel more like aluminum, but it could very well be zamak, but it sure doesn't look or feel like it.

Also included in the collection was 2 more PCC balisong's,all of them are also international series bali's,2 of them look like the black inserted bali's but their the chromed version's.
Well of course after seeing all of these knives I had to have them,so I asked for a price.I even posted some of these pics here in the past, asking some of the forumite's their opinions of them and their worth.
I kept in touch with this person for over 5 months before I finally got a solid price, and because I was persistent the person gave me a deal.I got all ten of the PCC bali's for $350/shipping included
(yep $35 a knife),and did I forget to say that almost all of the knives are in excellent to mint condition? Also included in the deal were two leather basket weaved sheaths, one tan(in the top pic) and one black(pictured above international series tanto).
Well i'm glad to say that I FINALLY received ALL of the knives recently and i'm totally estatic.
After receiving all of the knives the person told me that there more knives in the collection, but they weren't balisong's.
I've been thinking about it recently and i've been wanting to buy the rest of this knife collection but i don't know enough about fixed blade's to know which one's I should buy, cause there's like 100+ knives in this person's collection.
This is another pic,not a very good one,of an ANZA knife that is suppose to be a one of a kind knife, has anybody heard of such a knife, and should i buy it?

And could somebody point me in the direction of where I can find out what these other knives are worth?I would be very appreciative of any information that can be given to me.
And by the way this post is to show all the bali collector's out there that if you look in the right places you can still find a great deal if you stay persistent in searching for them, cause i've only been looking for collectable bali's for the last year and look what I found.

It's your money.
Buy the rest of them if you want.

The good thing about collection buying is that you can sell the knives you don't want.
You might get a good deal.
Maybe you would get some highly prized knives that are in that collection.
Maybe it's a junk buy.
Or both.

You should to post your two questions about prices and quaity in the Idefincation forum.
Ask about wholesale and retail prices on model, make and year.
They might able to help you out.

That's a really sweet deal for those balisongs.
The sheaths alone are worth $100.00 apiece.
Very nice..:)

I have heard of and seen some ANZA kanives, and they look like pretty well done handmade knives, tho, not realy my style.

Probably a descent investment, if for resale, since the ANZA's I've seen around go anywhere from $30.00 to $160.00

You always get the best deals just plain talking to people...

Better than replying to "for sale" or "wanted to buy" or auctions. If you can actually talk to someone, even trough email, you can find great deals.

Be sure to post a "group picture" of the bounty...

:D

If I'm not mistaken, the Anza knives were made from files (nothing wrong with that), and quite well done. They're kind of a budget custom.

First of all..., let me say you got "The Mother Load" for $350....geeeesh...I may cry! And congratulations.., really a good deal!

"Anza" knives are made from files..., and there have certainly been some fine knives made in that modality. I have personally handled quite a few of them and wasn't impressed at all. These comments are NOT meant to start an argument with Anza fans in any way.., and so those who have owned and used them please jump in.

I'm not sure what your benefactor meant by "one of a kind"?? I also don't know much about their particular line except that they show up at just about every Knife & Gun Show everywhere around So California. Given the knives are produced from file-stock.., I guess they are all "original" in some way, but I don't know that any are of "collectible" value -again-, someone please correct this if I'm totally off-base.

The profiling and blade finish/geometry on all the models I've seen have been mediocre at best, with little attention payed to "balance" or overall feel of the knife. I would also question the process they (Ansa) uses to stabilize the wood used in handle material because it looks pretty generic, like something on "Home Shopping Club".

Having said that.., if you give him another $350 for the Ansa.., you are still doing fine..., and we hate you <~~ totally kidding!

Great find!! And good job on the persistence! Thanks for sharing the pictures, and enjoy your early Christmas!!
