That rhymes : P. Last night while i was on the phone during an aerial my bali flew apart and hit me in the ear... Lucky i didn't get some "discount peircings" : )... So today i found the right size wood finishing nails and i was suprised that i actually did it right... Now my jag works better than new... Smoother, and i can fix the alignment because one end of the pin is actually in contact with the anvil (on the stock pins they kind of go up inside the handle on one side so you can't fix alignment...) I can't wait for the other pin to break.. it feels like it's going to any day : ). Yeah, i just had to share.-

Congratulations! The more you flip the more you'll learn how to fix balisongs, it's a great and ongoing process. Good luck with the other pin!

What's the best way to remove/break a pin? I know i could grind it off, but that would also grind up the handle ; )... I want to perform the transplant while the scalpal is still sharp-

Use a centerpunch & rubber mallet.Make sure whatever punch you use is thinner than the pin, since you're going to need to go down far with the punch.Sometimes it'll need to go thru one handle, thru the blade and at least halfway into the other handle.
Be careful no matter what you do...you don't want to end up screwing up a handle fork.

It wasn't me...It was my *good* twin..
My "inner puppy" made me do it..

Try cracking a wallnut with the handles!

That always seems to work! Those pins are nickle coated brass, so it you check the last pin every time you flip a little, you can probably just pop it out with your fingernails. Thats the best way, just let it wear out, but be carefull and check that pin often. Good luck. Guess that answers the question, "How do you know when your handles are too loss" !
