I found some nice Mammoth Ivory, that Don Hanson III doesn't own.

Friday was my day for handle materials in NYC.

I bought these scales from: www.fineturnage.com

They are 5" x 1.5", the damage was $160.

I am not certain which side is better, any thoughts?

Good for you that I wasn't there ;):D

Very, Very nice, that is a set I would have picked up and not put down.

Those are gorgeous pieces!! It is waaaay too difficult to choose which is better.

Very nice color and reasonable price.

Look at the ends to see if the color runs deeper on one than the other if so, that would be my choice. I would guess it's going to be the top.

Also, look at the ends to check the depth of some of the cracks. I just picked up a pair of scales on E-bay and one had a crack all the way through half of it. Hopefully, the super glue repair will take care of it.

I'll bet Don would trade some of his armadillo scales for that pair! :D

Those are the right size for a nice bowie.
