I had one a few months back and even though I used it a lot, I guess I never loved it. When I traded it off, I realized that even though I never loved it for any one use, I liked it for every use. I have had knives that I loved for certain uses but wouldn't even consider them for others. For example, I love my Centofante II for cutting up apples, opening mail, getting splinters out of my hands, and possible self defense but I wouldn't think to use it for really heavy duty tasks like cutting up car tires, splitting small firewood, or stuff like that.

The Para is a jack of all trades in a good way. I can't think of a thing that I would normally do with a knife that the Para couldn't at least do a better than average job with. For about $100 it is the best deal I have found. It can do everything my Sebenza could do but at 1/3 the price and to be honest, it can do most things better.

The things I didn't like about it are now the things I do like about it. The large handle to blade ratio used to be a reason I didn't like it. I felt like if I was going to carry that big of a handle, I should have a large blade. Now I feel that the handle is a benefit to controling the blade and improves leverage and control so much that often, you can do more work with the Para sized blade than you could do with a larger one. I didn't like the compression lock at first either but now I do.

If you haven't tried one, do.

I went through a similar sequence. When I first got one, I liked it, but wasn't sure I trusted it to stay closed in my pocket (and a couple other nits), so I traded it away. After several trades and purchases, I'm now back to the point where I EDC one, and have another sitting in my truck just in case :D

Wonderful combination of toughness, yet lightweight, perfect blade length, etc. !

The one thing I don't like about the Para is its open construction. Where is all my pocket fuzz suppose to go?

Seriously, great knife. Love the choil and blade length for detail work.

But doesn't all that open construction make it incredibly easy to clean out? I love mine!!

Hi Ron,

My comment was a lame attempt at humor. I love the open construction! :)

Best,
Tom

One time, I told my wife that the reason I needed to buy a 2nd one was because the open construction would collect all of my pocket lint, thus reducing the need to empty the lint screen in the dryer so often.

I don't think she believed me....

Actually, I didn't tell her that, but maybe I will someday :)

Oh yesss, here we are again talking about the do everything, go anywhere, handle anything, Paramilitary. This knife is my only EDC.

Hey, maybe we should start up a PARA fan club or something!

I sent mine away almost a month ago because of loose construction and blade play, and I'm wondering when I'll get it back. :(
