I have a question before I list a trade thread

As many of you guys know I picked up a Becker magnum camp a short while back along with an older Camilius combat bowie (which I have fallen in love with). At first, I liked the looks of the BK5 but not the BK9 so I got the BK5 first and later went back for the BK9. Anyway I have been getting my camp gear ready and trying to think of any thing I could the BK5 for that the BK9 would not do. They are almost the same length, but the BK5 is lighter and has more of a slicing blade. I do not do much slicing with a knife this big so I have been thinking about trading it for another knife I have wanted every since Camilius came out with them, and that is the Brute. I have never seen any in my area even when they had all the other line of Beckers back in the day.

So my question is, should I post a tread thread in the tread section trading my BK5 for a Brute, or should I hang on to the BK5 in hopes of one day finding a brute? To be honest, I was not looking for any beckers when I found the BK5 and BK9.

I just do not like a knife sitting somewhere not getting used and I think a Brute might get more use for my camping chores.

Sorry for my silly question, but I have been going over this in my mind for some time now. Thanks for any input.

Thanks,
John

good luck trading a magnum camp for a brute...

brutes have been selling on ePray for $250-350 lately. that's a LOT. the rare exception for a used, beat up model for $150-175 happens.

magnum camps aren't TOO common (or just nobody sells them), but i've never seen a camillus model sell for more than $150-175 with any regularity. lots in the $90-150 area.

so... keep it, use it, trade it. can't hurt to try selling it and/or trading it.

but if i can get a NIB brute myself for < $150, i'm all over it :)

Thanks for the reply. I did not know the Brutes were going for so much. I will just keep on to the BK5 and hope one day I will run across a Brute for a decent price. I do not think I care to sell the BK5, so I will have to find something to use it for. I am sure after a trip camping while using the BK5 I will be sing another tune :D

I am glad I asked here before I listed it.

Thanks again,
John

the BK-09 combat bowie is a really good knife, and quite worthy given the excellent price...

still, people go gaga for their brutes. not sure why. but who am i to talk :) i have safe queens AND users. so... :)

BK1's are out there for a good price you just hafta look & ask, The BK5 is a good knife and hard to find for sale/trade at fair market value...If I was you I would hang on to it...

i've seen more magnum camps for < $100 than i've seen brutes < $200 ;)

cheapest MC i saw was $70. that was a steal :)

saw a brute for $100, but that was a rare exception.

(and i do ask around, a lot)

I'll share after I receive the BK1....
I also grabbed a Cam. NIB BK9..$100 shipped , I am not a fan of the 9 being the BK1 can do the same(IMO)... the future of the BK9 is uncertain... I am currently looking for another BK6....

Are guys just that well connected? Who exactly are you asking where you find these kind of deals? I managed to find one deal on a brute and jumped on it but I got lucky and stumbled across it before anyone else did.

I am not Connected , I talk to guys in the military who know peeps....and the well is running dry for me....unless I do some trading.....
