I have bought 3 ESEE's (R.A.T)in the past for my brother serving abroad, never owned one for myself. I am continually amazed at what they look like when he comes home:eek: . Mangled but unbroken. Bent,chipped, mushroomed spines and still mostly intact.

Just ordered a HEST and am looking forward to putting it through the daily grind. Please nobody tell my Benchmades, or Beckers.;)

I as well as many of the guys and gals here would love to see pictures of these battered blades!!!
Congrats on the purchase of the HEST.
Very cool blade but wasn't for me. ;)

My HEST showed up yesterday. Not what I am after but was going to live with it. After seeing what just went down in the DPX forum by Mr Pelton it will be going back and be replaced with an Izula II.
 
izula 2 is a great knife, especially with larger hands. it also has a more "full" feeling with the full length scales

The HEST remains my favorite small fixed blade. It fits my hand better than the ESEE-3, is more compact, and thicker. I like the Izual II just fine, but the HEST is bigger and beefier. I don't like all the problems RYP is having with the folders, but that has nothing to do with the old HEST. Hang onto it and get an Izula II.

Oh wow. I just checked the DPx forum, and I see what you are talking about. Pretty bad.

How much do you want for the HEST?
 
HEST. Excellent first choice my friend.
Word of advice: if you EDC it, file down the spike. You'll rip tee-shirts to no end if you don't.
 
I'm 27 year old white male. Married with 17 month old daughter. I own 3 esee products including the rc-4 izula and ah-1 I am loyal to the brand due to price to performance ratio. These knives are worth much more money than we pay for them and they come from stand up guys that believe in customer satisfaction.
