I've added an article on my experiences with I&I Sport's trainer balisong complete with some pictures to my site. Click here to go directly to the review.

Nice review! I also have a friend that had a similar fracture while training with the I&I. Although the handle didn't completely break off as yours did.., it was fractured badly, and wouldn't have held up another 30 seconds.

It would be great if someone decided to design a nice 4" trainer in a Bali.., but like you.., I'm not aware of anyone even considering it currently.

I've only used the BM AFCK trainer, and found it to be pretty good actually.., but admittedly I have nothing to compare it to, as I haven't tried Round-Eye's, or the Spyderco variations.

Hey, maybe you can have Mer rehandle that trainer...

If you hit someone hard enough to snap one of his handles, your training partner would probably be lying on the floor in several pieces...

An excellent suggestion Mr. Ryan M. I'll contact our friend ASAP.

Thanks for the review I have the IAI catalog and I was seriously thinking about purchasing the trainer-I see that it does not hold up to sparing; but, I just want to practice my left handed openings and some flipping will it hold up for those applications?

from when i was talking to him i think he said it woulh hold up fine, although the blade looks really small comapred to the handles so you may want to get the pacific trainer from www.knifezilla.com ........ go to new balisong... and its the first one.
