Overall length: 10 inches; blade: 5 inches. Blade is BG-42 stainless RC 60-61, satin finished, stock is 4 mm thick. Bolsters are Ti, pinned in placed and underlayed with adhesive to keep out moisture. Grips are Micarta and I made the alu / copper and stainless bullseye Loveless bolts on the lathe... the knife went out to a fellow in south Germany who hunts wild pigs... the knife sold with a leather sheath and a Kydex sheath for 600 oh, well, I'm sending another one out for heat treating tomorrow... maxbe I'll put mamouth ivory grips on it?

Nice looking knife; I like the handle contours and those bolts look great too, from what I can see. I personally would like to see that with a drop point, but I'm sure it works well for skinning as it is.

As I have mentioned in the past, I don't normally like upswept blades, but I really like this one. That is one versatile looking knife you made there.

Hi Folks, thanks for the kind words... the photo has a bit of blade heavy distortion in it... I'm limited somewhat by the digital camera... this knife is really influenced by early Loveless semi skinners. It's pretty much the only Loveless influenced knife I make and grinding the upswept point is still a challenge. I grind the knife thin all the way out to the tip because its designed to be used to open up and skin animals.

Here's another, similiar but much smaller knife. This is the first knife I've made with a guard. The guard is attached with small, brass screw bolts I made on the lathe. Grips are red/brown Micarta. Steel is D2, RC 60-61. Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment. Nothing beats encouragement!!
