I know we're six months away, but I'm going to try to figure out something better this coming year for a RAT get together. Last year was fun, but I didn't like that everyone was sectioned off at different tables. We need a more social setting this time, and also not so crammed in. That place was PACKED. Anybody got any ideas? A bar-b-q would be perfect, but where the hell would we have it. I know most people can't stray too far from the hotel.

So who all is planning on going this year? I always miss every day but Sunday, but this year I already requested the whole weekend off. It'll be fun to finally get to see all the Friday and Saturday happenings.
 
Since I cant go to SHOT, Id love to go to Blade this year.....

Actually I believe im off that whole weekend......

It would be cool to have a meetup, and hit the show with some of you guys. A BBQ is always a good idea!!!

You are planning WAY ahead. You could try a tailgate party (with barbeque) in the nether reaches of the Hotel's parking lot. Get a few of those disposable barbeque grills that come pre-loaded with charcoal. Of course they could always shut you down if you don't get permission. Or look for a park with a barbeque pit near the hotel.

Just a couple of thoughts.

I plan to be there with a couple of buddies this year. If we meet at a restaurant I think it needs to be more casual. I will do some homework and see what I can find out.

Is not in law enforcement, so can't attend SHOT show, as much as I'd want to. :(

Where is this blade show? What do you guys do at blade show?
 
I found a Hooters, Long Horn, TGIF, Mellow Mushroom, Sportsline Bar & Grill and Dave and Busters all with in 2 miles. I don't know what the Dave and Busters there is like but the one near us can handle large parties easily.

At last years' Blade show, about 20 of us Case Collectors guys got together down at a park along the river for a BBQ. Good parking, nice wooded setting, facilities, and they let us have "refreshments". Can't be but 1/2 mi from the Cobb.

We also got together at Hooters the night before, but that's a whole nuther story.;)
 
Last year I wasn't able to go because off all the crap going on, but I am GOING this year, no question. The BBQ sound like fun, but then again, so does Hooters :D

I agree, it would have been nice to have everyone seated together, if we plan ahead this time we should be able to book something. There is a Fudruckers not too far from Papadeaux where we ate at Blade, it might be easier to book a room there... both Fudruckers and Papadeux are nice and close to the Extended Stay (which byt he way is a great place to stay - cheap and clean).
