I am gazing, in horror, upon my SIX month old Redwings... And they are toast. Mind you this is not the first pair I have eaten up in 6 months. Oh no: I have flat feet. Sell me a good leather shoe, fine people of the bladeforums. Not Boots! Leather Shoes, NO Steel Toe. Anyone have a flat foot problem and found a shoe that lasts and lasts?

Well I have flat feet..but what does that have to do with wearing out shoes? Are you feet pronating or doing something funny because of your flat feet? I got inserts made and they seem to help. Maybe getting inserts made might solve your shoe wear problem?

Buy 2 new pairs, 2 pair of shoes/boots will last 3 times longer given a day of rest in between wearings.

www.russellmoccasin.com They aren't cheap, but I have a pair of Sporting Clays Chukkas I wore almost every day for two years. They're still in great shape--I just have to get around to having them resoled.

For more utilitarial footware it's hard to beat Wellco for the money.

How about driving shoes? I've been thinking about getting a pair of these myself...hehehehe...

i have flat feet as well

ecco has been the best for me so far. they have a variety of lines but they make some shoes that are approriate for outdoor activities and business casual dress.

durable (2.5 years on one pair, 2 on two others) and very comfortable.

I would go for some Doc Martens. I have 3 pairs right now, all of which are at least 2 years old. They are extremely durable, comfortable shoes and I wear mine EVERYWHERE. In fact, I've had my black shoes for over 5 years and they have been all over this country.
