I still like Cocabola!

I hear folks crying about how toxic it is, makes there eyes burn, makes them cough blah blah blah.

I do agree to an extent, this particular handle felt like pepper in the eyes.

I still like it, it looks good, is hard enough not to ding with the slightest bump. Its oily enough to be naturally stable, and its easy to finish.

Heres a fighter i just finished, forged 1084 blade, 8", NS trim, and yep... Cocabola handle :D

Man I love the looks of Cocobolo also.It was just messing with my youngest daughters sinuses when I would come in out of the shop.Plus it would make my head feel like it was going to explode when ever I would get my blood pressure up at all,and this included when Donna and me would have a intimate moment.And I would rather have that time than the cool handle,So i will stick with Ebony and Ivory as much as possible if you know what I mean.

At my age Im lucky to have an intimate momment. I do like the looks of that handle. I would go outside and grind it.
 
i had felt trashed at the end of the day with headaches and eitchy eyes wed, thurs, i woke up this morning with my forearms and face burning and tight chest too and relized that i have become senceitize, i was working cocobolo both days. so my day has come! thats the end of using cocobolo :grumpy: that inculdes all of the rosewood family. stablized burl it is!
 
I love the stuff too but I'm like everyone else. The problems only get worse the more you use it also. I have to confess that I still use both Rosewood and Cocabola from time to time. I always regret it but it's an addiction!:D :D
 
I love the looks of cocobolo too.
Barry and I are working on finishing up a few hunters with cocobolo handles this weekend.

Thanks fellers. I'll tell you what bothers me and its Desert Ironwood. If i get a few lungfulls of that stuff im sick for sure. Ironwood will tear up your respitory system indeed.

I always wear a mask, but sometimes take it off before the dust settles etc......
 
That's a beauty Matt...I really like your style. Clean lines and nicely finished....less can be so much more.

As far as intimate moments...too much info ya' weird-o's :p :p :p

What is "senceitize" ??? Is that a typo, or some freaky illness I need to look out for?

Ever heard of a GOOD resperator? That and taking a shower before you leave the shop (or wear overalls/tyveck suit and strip it off)

If spelling starts counting I'm gonna have the Dunce title as well as the ugly knife award!:D :D

Oh...I forgot too. Beautiful knife (or is that nife) anyway, love it. If that handle starts making you itch, send it down to me and I'll take care of it for you!:D
