My Small Plain Sebenza is almost two weeks old. Every morning it takes it's place, clipped to the inside rear of my right front pocket. It matters not, that the perfect titanium scales now have a few scratches on them. The beauty of the Sebenza is not in physical appearence, but in the magnificent way this wonder of mechanics functions. (I can not stand "blade wiggle" or looseness of any type in a blade. No worries with my Sebenza on this score!)
As I posted when I first ordered this wonder, it is my "EDC". As a collector, I have too many knives to count. (Both users and collectables.) However, during the last two weeks of ownership, I have grown to appreciate my Sebenza above all the others in my little collection. Formally, I actually liked the CRK&T, Kershaw, Case, Microtechs, etc... that usually hung from my belt or rested in my pocket. I guess it's like going from a Chevy to a Porche, the difference in function is amazing.
I'm already making plans for my next Chris Reeve knife. As we travel out of the country a lot, I need a smaller knife so as not to draw the attention of the airport guards in foreign countries who, even though it has a blade under 3 inches, might decide that my Sebenza is "too risky" an item to be in my pocket on an international flight. Yes, Mr. Umfaan will soon be my "travel pocket knife". The large, razor sharp Opinel used for cutting cheese and sausage can be safely checked with the luggage and the Umfaan can ride in my pocket with my Victorinox "Execuitive" with the Photon Microlite on the keyring.
I have been spoiled, and I like it! And, I feel that I'm not alone in my satisfaction with my Sebenza.
