I'd love to see user and maker pics of some of the bigger (8" and above) koyote knives out there. I know the BigMike Chopper is out there. For a long while Christoff had his Longknife on his site.

How many, longer, knife Koyote knives are out and about? I'm curious and a bit more interested. I really want to order a Koyote. I feel almost obligated to get one of his fine blades in my collection. However, my inventory of 3", 4" and 5" and 6" blades is almost saturated.

I need to go long (> 7"), but I'm not really a machete person.... Lets see some Koyote Longknives!

aloha i got one christof made ,my boar hunter it has a 13" blade an its awsome use it almost every day to clear brush an trails,an dispatch some hogs i consider it one big knife ,its a longknife model on steroids,,my camera is down will try to get pics with cell phone,,aloha

This one is cheating, as it's completely NOT machete-like

This is the first one that's really a camp chopper model, monkeybutt has it

There's the testing shots of that one, too.

Of the clip point models, this is probably the shortest. Tony's has about an inch on this one, and wait till barberphobic posts!

I love the looks of that sheath! Is the hump in the middle of the spine purely for aesthetics or does it help with the balance? I wasn't in love with the shape of it as my first impression, but if that provides functional weight for chopping than it becomes a great asset and I'm sold on it.

They look great. Lets see more user pics!!!!!!!!

All those photos are before I did the filework and final handle sanding- the hump is great-

You are right about adding weight for chopping.

It does help with the balance, and the long clip does, too. It's a good chopper but still light and workable as a knife

It's also a thumbramp- and the only real full sized one :D It's really handy.

kalama- here's a couple from the archive!

Looks BIG in the hands of Leif, who was close to 5 in that photo. (I don't recall if he was still 4. he's 5.5 now)

That looks like a short sword! I bet it chops like a champ. I cut a few 2-3" pine trees down with my large leuku and it went through them with minimal effort.

it is a champ man i love that blade its my fav. 3" plus haole koa with one swing down, even downed some trees with that blade..it goes with me every where...well almost every where,,

The handle on that leauko is stand-up. Leopard wood? Really stunning!

Christof, I'll have to ask for specs on that Traditional Leuku. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

here's one I did in osage:

I've done three that went off to homes, 7 to 8 inch blades, 1/8 inch thick. I have a bit of a narrower belly and tip than most of the traditional ones.

it is cool an christof made the handle alittle big wich is perfect when chopping your hand can move up-down so theres no hot spots i can swing this blade for hours with no gloves an get no blisters...
