A couple of weeks ago I asked in a thread about BUCK doing any engraving/scrolling from the factory. I finally got to my local dealer and got pictures. It looks to be a 4 dot frame with a 2 dot blade. The only mark I can find is either the initial G or J. He'd like to know something about it for when he sells it( not to me, too rich)::(:(:(

That is not a 4 dot frame if its original. The pins are correct for a 2 dot frame. It looks to have some radius which could have been added later with the engraving. Nicely done. DM

That looks to be about a 1976 frame with the three small pins. I'm saying this from memory.....but it's what I remember about my 110's at home.

I don't know who made the engraving in your knife, Mitch,
but Buck sold engraved knives.

Anyhow.....it's a good-looking knife.

Looks like actual cut engraving instead of the computerized versions we see of late.

I hope you get some answers here.

Yes, BG42, the factory engravings look somewhat like robot made.
Mitch's knife seems to be hand made.

I brought the pic of Chris Bear Claw's 112 here......

He posted it without comment on a thread about BUCK engraving......I'm not sure if he meant it was done at Buck, but it looks like cut engraving but in a far less complex version than that of the OP.

The knife will be mine in a couple of weeks. He didn't want as much as I had thought. He did tell me he does know it's a custom but he does not know who did it. The engraving is so close to the radius that it makes me think the radiusing was done after the engraving. In any regard it will look sweet after a few thousand rotations of the buffing wheel.
