I asked a question several treads ago on early blade stamps of the 121. I recieved great feed back, yet I am having trouble in understanding the differences in the 121 when it becomes a three line stamp(prior to '86). After the tip down stamp there are three 121s with 3 line stamps prior to '86. Can someone help me figure out the differences in these knives.

Well, After 44 looks and No responses I have found the information I was looking for. According to the info I recieved The tip down 3 line stamp was 1972 only, Followed by the tip up 3 line stamp that ran from '73-'80 and it had 4 red micarta spacers. In 1981 Buck removed one spacer from the hilt area of the knife leaving 2 spacers in the pommel. This only lasted a year and in late '81 they removed an additional spacer from the pommel, leaving only 2 spacers(one up and one down). This version ran from 1981 to 1985, with the addition of a date stamp in 1986. Over the coarse of the years the blade became thicker and thicker, transforming into more of an all purpose knife, simillar to the 105... and ultimately fell off of the Buck production line.

Thank you HS for the information, your the Man...
