If you could carry it, what would it be?

Hello All,
I just thought of something...if you could carry any blade(s) that you wanted to, but don't because of modern practicality or legal restrictions, what would it/they be?

Off the top of my head, I'd go with my katana, wakizashi, machete, CS Master Hunter, tomohawk, and a couple of good throwers.
You?

FM.

PS-Subject to change without notice. :D

My Cold Steel Trailmaster. I like the way it feels in hand. However, the law states that it must be carried non-concealed so it's just not practical.

Errr... What do you mean? For every day normal carry? Tomohawk? Are you crazy? Although carrying Randall 14 around does sound tempting, I would still prefer to carry a folding knife for a regular day. What I would really like to carry legally is a balisong blade, one of them benchmade butterflies... Unfortunately those are illegal to carry here, in California.

I mean it would really look strange if I had to park Battle Mistress in my office every day...

I would likt to carry a Grohmann #1 (that's the original design from 1958). This knife is sharp, good-looking and feels great in your hand. I carry my small David Boye fixed blade a lot, but even this little knife will attract attention and strange looks from bystanders. Unfortunately a Grohmann for everyday carry is therefore out of the question.

Here's a link: Grohmann

It would be nice if people considered a knife foremost a tool instead of a weapon....

Hoooo Boy!

For me, a Microtech Dragon Slayer 2 (pic below) as my folder.

For the main blade, a wakizashi made from 6AL4V titanium with a carbide cutting edge. It would be worn on the back, handle down in a front break kydex rig.

First, I'd have to find one...but I would say it would have to be a the CRK short sword ;) But...I'll choose my RMJ Talon instead since I have one :) Why carry it??? Because I could! In reality (if I could carry anything), I would probably just feel better about toting around an L-UDT.

I would carry the same thing I carry now.
Maybe I would carry a sword if I lived in some alternate world where firearms did'nt exist.
But in this world carrying a sword would probably get you shot.

Good luck,
Allen.

Great topic! :)

I love swords, but I don't see them as being very practical in the real world, even if they were legal to carry.

I suspect the main change to my EDC would be to put my Bob Dozier Texas #6

on my belt and leave my Sifu at home.

Probably one of Ed Fowlers big Iron Mistress Bowies. As everyone that knows me on these forums knows, I love Ed's knives.

a Cols Steel Single edged Katana, a BK&T Patrol Machete, my Ka-Bar 1245, And throuw in a folder just for fun.

Big ol' frickin BATTLE AXE.

Actually, no. I just got over-excited at the idea of no restrictions. Probably would strap a Randall Model 1 to my hip is all.

For me it's an Al Mar Full Auto SERE...

Just press the button and it "snaps" to attention... ready for mischief!

Just gotta love that..:D

Any fixed blade. Here in MO it doesn't matter if it is 1" or 10" it is basically illegal to carry any kind of fized blade outside of hunting and fishing.

What about kitchen knives in MO?
And do plastic knives like you get at fast food places count as fixed blade knives?

i carry what i want.
AR law says anything over 3.5 inches is a no go... :D
carry what you feel like carrying, and as long as your not mugging old ladies, you should be alright.

BTW-i should add WITHIN REASON
doesnt mean carry a randall model 1 w/ a seven inch blade...keep it inconsicuous.

Aside from one of my Glock pistols, (and an "M-60" machinegun), it would have to be my Ontario Frontiersman "fighting Bowie", my Camillus Cuda CQB-1, or my SOG Tigershark.:).
