If you could have any handle material...regardless of cost...

What would it be?

What kind of knife would you put it on?

safe queen? user? display? beater? folder? chopper?

Carbon Fiber on an o-1 WSK, satin w/ exposed pommel and Fibremascus on an O-1/L6 Nessmuk w/ integral guard and exposed pommel. Users.

The Mammoth tooth bark on an EDC. Maybe....a K-Tusk...

I just think it would be cool to have with me all the time.

Mammoth tooth for EDC/users.

Carbon fiber, mastodon or elephant ivory for display/safe queens.

FRN for my current knife budget. :D

Right now I'm just enamoured with ironwood. I saw some spectacular mamoth tooth at blade this year, but it would wind up in the safe. I'd rather some of that beautiful ironwood getting beat up. (Smells like cofee when you grind it too.)

I'd probably put it on a nessmuk, as you probably already know.

I voted for the Mammoth Bark.

I really love the stuff and it is surprisingly strong!

They aren't making any more of it either.....

Tom

Depend of the knife.

Stabilized wood looks good on some knives, but for a wilderness knife I prefer micarta. Damascus micarta looks killer:p

I like the last one bought here on the forums from Mark Laramie, OOSIC, if you don't know what that is, You will have to do an advance search on Mark. I don't use those kind of words normally.:D :D A picture of his is in my collection in my signature.

I'm really partial to abalone - on a fancy, engraved folder. Maybe 2 or 3 inch blade. Though I can't recall seeing any on a fixed blade. Might be pretty striking on a small 3" fixed blade.

Green micarta on a user. I just like it.

Mammoth tooth on a user? What's the grip like? How's the durability?

I voted for mammoth ivory bark as my favorite, probably followed by Desert Ironwood any high-quality hardwood Burrell. with Busse style serrations toward the tip along about half of the blade. standard drop point or forward canting model. Such knife would probably be out of my price range thu.

Mammoth Ivory/Bark for me and I want it in a 4' hunter with a Nickel Silver gaurd and and damascus blade. So how long will my order take?

I love ironwood. I've finally got my brother to start making a handle for a small puukko blade I bought. I gave him the wood 4 years ago with the condition I get a knife out of it. Gorgeous stuff.

keep the votes coming, guys....would love to have more input.

stacked leather would be a neat departure. Threaded pommel.

I love stag, it would like great on one of my Barkes Hunters knife, if I could get it that big. Thanks for the post. God bless.
