You can't have just one. I've been carrying my recently acquired XM-18 3.5" flipper almost every day since I got it. I traded into it and it's new & unused. Haven't been able to "break it in" yet. I've been carrying it in the nylon pouch it came in, either on my belt or in my pocket. I'm surprised at how light it is for such a "big" knife. Main reason for doing this is that I don't want to scuff it up, but I want to have it handy, "just in case" I need it. I'm thinking that I'd like to try the non-flipper, too. However, it was so danged hard to get this one, that I'm not willing to turn it loose. At least not until I have a 3.5" non flipper in hand for comparison.. So, looks like I need at least 2 XM 18's. Then there's the XM24...

Keep up the good work guys.

Welcome fellow Hinderer addict! :D

One is too many and a thousand is not enough.....

Yes, don't sell or trade your flipper - you'll kick your own a** for doing it. BUY MORE! :)

I personally think you should get a 3" non flipper.. The 3.5" non flipper is too hard to open with that heavy blade IMO. The 3" is a nicer EDC, but the 3.5" can handle anything on the planet.. Great knives for sure.. Congrats..

My first xm was a 3.5 non flipper. Later on, I got the flippers in all 3 sizes and after liking them so much, the non flipper became expendable. Its on its way to its new home as I type. Flippers for me all the way. I have been carrying my 3" flipper daily. I have used it for lots of stuff, but I still feel the sebenza cuts better. But its still a great knife and is getting edc time. The 3.5" is the best all around size I think. The xm-24 is freakin huge and robust. Very thick liners and built like a tank throughout. If I had to pick only one, it would be a 3.5" flipper. But since I have all 3, I dont have too. I have 2 3" flippers. Might sell the one as I really only need one in each size. But at least for the near future, its doing good as a safe queen.

My non flipper opened like an automatic. Just as fast as the flipper. I like the flipper more for a safety guard than a means of opening the knife. Plus, the studs on the flipper work great. I look at it this way, the non flipper can only be opened one way, while the flipper has two options. Flippers for me.........just my 2 cents after having and trying both !!!
