The Blade Show was great! You guys all need to go next year for sure. It is so big the only way to see it all is not to stop and talk to anybody. I met alot of people from the forums and saw their work beautiful knives although some were sold out. I met some very interesting people from other countries and have a wealth of new ideas to try for my future knives.

My 5 knives were judged for Journeyman rating and I received my certificate at the ABS awards banquet! Yes thats right Im a Journeyman Smith! Ya Hoo!! I sold a couple knives to help defray expenses and had a picture taken of the test knives. Hopefully I can get it posted soon. JS Bruce Bump

Glad you made it there and back okay. I hope all is well with the family.

I hope you can get that picture up soon, I'd sure like to see how the 5 knives turned out. Did you enter the Bowie with the screws?

Wish I could have been there, maybe next year!

Congrats Bruce!

Thanks guys. No I didnt enter the one with the screws, I took Waynes advice and made less complicated designs, no file work, spacers, engraving ect. "less things to nit pick about." I only had 2 with soldered guards also. I was bold enough to include a folder but they must have liked it ok. All had a hand rubbed finish (no buffing) That was the time consuming part. They dont like grinder marks left anywhere. Bruce E, I dont think you will have a bit of trouble. Nick, Just forget it, get another job. Ha Ha. Crayola, Thanks much. Bruce B

Outstanding Bruce, congratulations!!!!!

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Thanks again, Yes the prices will go up I hope. Maybe I can pay the visa bill. That was an expensive trip but worth every penny. There were about 21 people testing for JS and 4 or 5 for Master Smith. We all got to shake hands with Bill Moran and had our group pictures taken for Blade Magazine. Im the one without a cowboy hat. Mike Draper also got his stamp and Audra Draper said my knives look good! I could go and on. Did I say Audra Draper said my knives look good?

Bruce, since I was locked into my table, I didn't get a chance to shake your hand (I did meet your son, though!) Congratulations!
