I have narrowed my choices down to the following:
Pathmaker II
Ontario SP5 Bowie
Gerber Survival Bowie
Cold Steel Stainless Trailmaster
Junglee Bolo

I have decided on these primarily on price, as all but the Cold Steel is under $100, (CS being $160). Please give me the pros and cons of these or other knives. I am looking for a good long knife to be worn in a Dundee rig. So, khukris are out. Thanks all.

The Ontario is probably as good a tool as any listed
even if not the most atractive or desirable. It seems like
you're looking for a stainless or coated non-stainless blade.
Consider then also: RTAK (long wait), Brute, or if one shows
up on the forums or ebay - United SEALS machete. These are
probably superior performers.

A Cold Steel Trailmaster "2nd" should run under $100, and would be a pretty good choice, but I'm not sure if the stainless Trailmasters are available as "2nds"...

I would say the Trail Master. Good durable knife, and holds a good edge. Why not a Cold Steel Recon Scout?

BeckerBeckerBeckerBeckerBecker...Magnum Camp! Magnum Camp!BeckerBeckerBeckerBeckerBecker...Magnum Camp! Magnum Camp!

8.5 inch blade, J. Fisk design, around 70 bucks and a solid rep. I've only handled one, but that one felt good. There are some complaints about the handles being slippery in smaller hands so be warned.

That one's a little harder to sing, but once you get the "BeckerBeckerBecker" part stuck in your head, you can put anything at the end.

I've never handled one of these, but a search will turn up a lot praise for it as a big knife. It's about 7 in. and it's under 50 bucks! Oh praise the Lord, Holy Jesus...
