Spyderco I'm dumping my Para 2, am I crazy?

I'm an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman and own a small collection of knives compared to what I see on here-- maybe 40 knives of varying types. I have what I like to think of as a working collection. Pretty much all of my knives see regular use, whether it is in an EDC role or a hunting or fishing knife. I've owned my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 for some time and have found that it is simply too big for me for everyday carry. It is a fantastic knife, just not for me I guess. Do you guys think that I should part with it or hold on to it? It doesn't help that the color pattern that I chose at the time is no longer appealing to me. I have the black s30v with digi-camo g10 version.

I did the same. It was fun to flip, but a little too thick in the blade and wide (and not so comfortable) in the handle for me.
Based on your usage... I suggest a Spyderco Stretch (especially in ZDP189) instead. Its a lock back (so won't fail), thinner but tough blade (great slicer), and meant to be a hunter/skinner (so probably better for your uses).
I came to Spyderco for the PM2, too, but have stuck around for the Stretch.

I find it too big for me as well. Strange as I love some of Spyderco’s larger knives like the Endura, Manix 2 and GB2. I greatly prefer the Para 3 to the PM2 as well.

To each their own though. Many more Spyderco fans love the PM2 than do not. Nice to have options to fit every user.

Sell it and get something you like more. :)

I guess it just does not fit with my system. When I am on a hunt, I bring a medium fixed blade and a small folder beside my firearms and a multi-tool in my pack. For fishing I carry a small folder and a pair of needle-nose pliers with the multi-tool in my pack. And generally for EDC, I carry a blade of 3 inches or so, or a smaller multi tool like my older Leatherman juices. So the para 2 doesn't quite fit anywhere, and I view it as $130 sitting in my drawer.

Nice thing is that they aren’t exactly rare. If you don’t sell it, maybe put it away for a couple of months and see if you miss it at all....

I dunno , maybe trade or sell it to get the smaller Para 3 ? The Para 2 is a great knife imho.

No, I bought one and in hand I could see while people like it so much. However this didn't change the fact the knife just wasn't for me so I sold it.

It's too big for me too as is the Police. Well loved Spydie knives, but not for me. Ditch it or park it somewhere you park knives.
