I recently went on a trout fishing trip with my brother and uncle, we had to stop at a Walmart to pick up a few things that we needed, just some last minute things before the fishing started for the weekend. I remembered that I left my Ol' 110 at home, so I was looking to pickup a knife to use for the harder work around camp. We went back to the sportsman's section to have a look around, when I laid my eyes on this beauty.
I seem to have forgotten what the model is, but the number it is #345, I think that means it's an avid, Right? I saw that it had diamond wood scales so it was comin' home with me. I don't know what steel is in it, but it cuts, and cuts some more. I'm really happy with this knife and it's a perfect backpocket EDC, I think it is possibly the best pocket clip I have ever seen.

Here are some pics of the beauty, if you guys have some pics or info to share I would really appreciate it, I LOVE THIS KNIFE!!!

Great knife, very happy with this thing.

I'm sure that's a Vantage Select with 420HC blade and Dymondwood handles like the handles on the Avid. They made a bunch of them for Walmart. If it was an Avid, it would have the steel type (13C26) and the Bos emblem on the side opposite the model number and the number would be 346, not 345.

They are great knives, especially for the money. Here's the end of the box they came in and it has the orange dot found on the Bucks sold at Walmart. They also came in a clam pack.

Hi JTS,

There have been a few threads on these walmart woodies, it's one hell of a knife for the price.

Thanks guys, I really enjoy EDCing this knife, it makes a great back up to my 301.
I'm hoping to add a few of the other variations to my rotation before to long.

Thanks for all the info and pics guys, I really enjoyed them.

SCORE!!! Nice knife. I've got 2 exactly like yours. Like others have said, 420HC steel with Dymondwood handles,SWEET combo you won't find hardly anymore. When these are sold off i think that's going to be it. Walmart has stopped getting these from Buck so they will get harder and harder to find. I love mine and think they are an awesome combination of materials. BEST KNIFE ON THE MARKET FOR THE MONEY hands down. Finding yours at a non Walmart store is quite a find. Mine never leaves my side, goes everywhere I go, razor sharp and looks AWEWOME to boot! I personally believe these will end up as real collectors pieces down the road as they weren't mass produced for as much as the regular Select model. These are truly the kind of knife you have for a life time.

I bought one off ebay. Unfortunately the seller took off the orange dot off the tag. Id love to find another one.

I noticed a Vantage (in box) sitting under the glass on clearance at my local WM. It was $30. I didn't even think about the possiblility of the WM only combo. May have to go back and check...but I think I swore off ever returning to a WalMart.

On mine the orange dot is printed on the label. Not an orange sticker put on the label.

Was your's in a clam pack or a box? They came both ways and the clam pack doesn't have the orange dot.
