I just got a calypso jr in grey. I'm too excited about it to post anything articulate about it right now. More later...

My Caly Jr is my favorite as well. I have the ZDP189 one, and it is beautiful and feels great. I love my Centofante III PE and Atlantic Salt SE, but the Caly is just so slick.

I have 3 Calys, 2 grays and a ZDP189. They are simply superb cutters. They weigh nothing and cut everything. You made a very wise buy.

I LOVE my Calypso,Jr.!! I too have the burgundy ZDP-189. CONGRATS on the Caly. They are awesome knives, in any permutation!

The blade on this thing is amazing. It has better edge geometry than anything I've ever seen. The fit and finish is the best of all of my spydercos and I love the grind on the back of the blade. It's really easy to open and it opens really solidly, but it doesn't open so easy that it's illegal in new mexico (unlike my other spydercos). Although the blade and handle are the same size as my native, it's shorter overall when open than the native so it's a little bit less scary. The handle isn't as comfortable as the native but the blade more than makes up for it. I'm not usually a fan of tip down carry but it's no problem at all with this one.
This is going to be my new school knife. Although it doesn't seem to be against policy to carry a folder, I don't want to take any chances with my rescue 93mm.

I like the CJ a lot also. I recently acquired a gray one myself in the VG10 steel. I'll probably be upgrading that one down the road here when I get caught up in the shop.

The caly jr is one of my favorite in the spyderco line. It gives you the best of both worlds, great ergos and a nice size leaf blade. Not to mention that VG-10 is a great steel and is easy to sharpen.
