Have any of you guys engaged in indoor throwing against softer targets? Fun stuff!
My friend had several large cardboard boxes from Dell, and we started throwing various things into the boxes. We threw from a seated position on the couch and the target was across the room. I found it a good exercise in getting a feel for throwing various objects.
Our "throwers" were quite varied, including a 4" nail, a SR-101 icepick, CRKT M18-04 Folder, HI Karda, several round nosed butter knives, A small Custom Warncliff, a cheapo non heat treated thrower, a Craftsman screwdriver and an SKS spike bayonet. I also threw several nicer blades here and there.- The real suprise was how tough the CRKT folder is. After alot of bad impacts the only damage was loose screws on the pocket clip. No blade play or lock damage.
Now the boxes are so full of holes to be useless, so a new target must be found.

Does anyone have a good idea for indoor targets/materials?

Wrap a foam archery target in duct tape  . This keeps the foam from going all over the place, and is a soft target.

I've used old drywall and doors. Why pitch them in the trash when you can bust 'em up the fun way?

Flattened cardboard boxes work great, but usually you need to duct tape them.

And the green stuff that florists use--if you can find a cheap enough supply--work great, but need to be tape-wrapped to prevent rapid disintegration.

For fun, try hitting a mylar balloon anchored by its string, if you have any left over after a party. Not so easy to puncture, and since it wobbles, it makes a different type of target.

I went in on a Yellow Jacket archery target with my friend, and we wrapped it in duct tape. It makes a sweet and very quiet target. Sticks easily, but will bounce a really bad/too hard throw back from across the room. Still, a hell of a lot better than cardboard for indoor throwing.
