Hey keyboard warriors!!! My Inova X5 arrived today.
This flashlight looks tough as hell...feels good to
the touch, etc. BUT, is it just me or is the actual
light production mediocre??? When I compare it side
by side in a dark room my Surefire 6P seems twice as
bright. The Inova seems softer...am I missing some-
thing. What should I expect from this Inova X5? Help!

Yardboy;

The Inova X-5 is a floodlight, and the Sure Fires are more of a spotlight.

I don't think the technology is there yet, for an L.E.D. to beat a Halogen, metal hydride, or zenon lamp.

The X-5 is a great light, and it has its purposes, just like the brighter Sure fire has its purpose.

I hope that helps.

Now, go mow my lawn, yardboy, and don't forget to weed eat! :D

Also, leave the metal 2 Cell + surefires on for more than 15 minutes and then try to handle them. Happy 1st degree burn day. :D

Was the main reason I traded mine away and bought a 5x

I understand...it's a well made light...just doesn't
put out alot of it...it's a floodlight i guess...
what application is it designed for? It's tactical,
so you'd think it would have a stronger purpose...
this thread is in "whine and cheese" because I'm
whining about my INOVA X5 performace...I charge $35
to mow a front and backyard...

yardboy:

Both light has its usage -

Advantage of X5
1. Long lasting time - abt 20 hours
Advantage of Surefire
2. blind someone with the light - if directly in their eyes very bright

Disadvantage
X5 not very bright compare to Surefire
Surefire light - lasting time ?????

Say if you have a black out - X5 will last u through the morning - Surefire won't be able to do that. But if you are looking for someone in the dark - this will sure beat X5. (Spot light)

aren't moderators suppose to know how to tranfer threads other
forumns...hope my whine criteria is adaquit.
