best weather app by far is radarscope. it is 9.95 though. gives very up to date radar info and using gps it can give your position relative to any incoming weather.
the best free app is from the weather channel. the .99 weatherbug app is also very good
i have all three on my iphone
bloomberg is the best business/finance app and it is free. the wsj app is buggy but you get good content and it is also free. there are lots of news reader apps. none of them are that great. newsfuze is .99 and links to a host of news sites without you downloading a dozen apps to your device.
if you want games, fieldrunners and flight control are fun and mindless
