I know I feel strange when I sharpen my traditional knives on diamond stones.

Na. Just use what works for ya.

I really like to use my Arkasas stones on traditionals, but they just don't seem to work on the D2 in my Queen.

Why would it be wrong? Our forebears were a resourceful lot, and would've used whatever they could get their hands on. I don't doubt that they would have used diamond hones. I myself use sandpaper to sharpen my knives because I like a convex edge.

I use an EZ-LAP diamond hone, like Tony Bose does BTW, and don't feel the least bit traitorous!
It's just another way of rubbing your knife on a rock!!:D

Works wonderfully on D-2, my favorite steel!!

I heard from someone once that it might be possible to go back in time if you try to make instant coffee in the microwave...I was afraid to try it.

I don't know WTH that has to do with anything :p Anywho...just makem sharp. I heard Juan Mendez has his buddies sharpen his Bose knives on concrete steps  ...don't do that ;)

man my old carbon folders love my dmt diamondstones, why breakup a good relationship!!!!!!:D

I like my Arkansas stones a lot, but that is like saying you would only cut things with your slip joints that your grandpaw cut. No plastic for you;)

I haven't used anythng but diamond hones for maybe 20 years now. My wallet carry is a little Eze-lap hone. I love diamond sharpeners. Clean, fast, gets the job done.

But once in a while, just for old times sake, I use the bottom of a coffee mug. Drives Karen nuts, especially if I do it in public.:D

I use all kinds of things to sharpen knives. In the last year I have been spending time with an Edge Pro (google that) to good advantage. Recently I watched a fellow demonstrate a Warthog V sharp and was very impressed. (www.warthogsharp.com). Check it out. It looks gimmicky, but it is good stuff. I will probably buy one sometime when I feel flush.
