Look at this picture:

Is it not a Photon? I found it in a swedish online shop, ( http://www.clasohlson.se ), but the price is only about hmm 3 dollars. Is it a cheap copy, or the real thing??

At first sight it does appear to be a Photon II.....I have one....but then on closer inspection, and comparing it to mine, it seems to be a very clever fake indeed. Hence the price. The switch of the real Photon II is made of clear plastic. The one in your pic is black. The split ring on the real PhotonII is smooth and does not have those crimps. That's my verdict.:p

It sure looks like one. The Long's Drugs chain near us carries a Chinese knockoff of the Photon. Sealed switch, waterproof/shockproof, batteries included and all for $4.99 in blue, green, clear, red and yellow light. I bought two of them for our kits and may go back and get a few more.

It is a cheap copy of a Photon II. I suggest you spend your money on a quality LED keychain light. My website, PocketLights.com sells keychain lights between $6.95 and $21.95. I bought a few samples of these Photon knock-offs and decided not to sell them on PocketLights.com because they were poorly made.

IMO, this is a cheap knockoff of a Photon II.:barf:

Why?
1. As pointed out, the switch should be clear plastic,
2. button behind switch should have some texturing not just be plain,
3. keyring on my Photon II doesn't have those crimps,
4. the LED itself looks different from a real Photon II

You can also check on the bottom of the Photon II, where the screws are, it should have imprinted 'Photon Microlight'.

They are definitely cheap knock off Photon II's

I bought one in Bangkok for 100 baht. They are no where near the quality of the original but ok for zipper pulls etc.

The battery life is poor and the plastic is inferior. There is no lettering/engraving on the back either.
