Is the Sharpmaker good for "tanto" style blades?

How would my Sharpmaker work on a tanto blade? The video is buried in junk at this time, but I don't recall any info on this particular issue.

Would it be used as any other type of blade or would you just have to use it as a flat stone on the bottom of the stand?

Sure, why not? I would just be careful (1) to approach it as two separate sections to sharpen, and (2) to not round off the points by letting them slip off the edge of the stone.
 
I just did the main plane. YOWZIE!!! Just ....lightly..... got sharp QUICK. On tips, I think I will just TAPE the very end so I won't round it. No matter HOW cautious I am, I can round a tip in 3 seconds.

Hair comin off like a push mower. NEAT!
