It was big, mean & ugly and the Toad took it out.

It was a splinter

Glad I had my knife.

I would have left it in and endured the pain rather than pull that ugly knife from my pocket. It sounds like a Calypso Jr. liteweight kind of splinter. He He He...

Dale,
Ever had a dog that was butt ugly but so damn good that you loved it anyway ?
The Toad fixes that "mechanical" thing with me. It looks mechanical, and I cycle it open and closed hundreds of times a month.
Everything is where it naturally should be, and the "CLICK--CLAK" it makes is relaxing.
I usually have another knife with me anyway. Something like a Sebenza, Unfaam, Spyderco Standard or even a Calypso. I still find that little Toad in my hand when I need a fix.
Gofigure ?

The right tool for the job?

Leatherman super tool for heavy duties

Spyderco starmate for major cuts

A ladybug for the "I-need-a-small-blade-right-now-while-holding-my-keys-in-my-hand"

A tiny Victorinox for the tweezers and the tooth pick (this alone is worth it)

A micra for times when you need the best scissors in town

When out hiking - anything from a mad dog ATAK 2 to buck nighthawk

Did anyone say overkill?

Dale, thats one cutting remark.

I know that the "TOAD" is a well made tool (isn't everything made by Spyderco?). I just do not want any of my co-workers to see me with that wee-knife. Wouldn't want to get any Warts from that Toad.

You know Billy, we're still on the same wave length.
When I first saw the prototype Toads I immediately fell in love with them and had to have one. They are like bulldogs. They're so damn ugly they're "cute". Their small stature belies their strengths. I swear, smaller knives are the ones you'll "use".
Big knives have their place but you'll have the smaller ones with you when you need them. The Toad is a winner!

There are a few other of my Spydies I'd choose for that job.

Hi Gene,
How's life on the mountain ?
I'm sending you an email with a picture of the lady I found about six months ago.
I'm leery of posting photos here, though

My Mini Police started rusting too.
I finally cleaned it up and hung it here by the computer.
I just never could learn to take it off before showering.
Also, I'm not at all suprised you like the Toad. It is, afterall, practical.
Take care.
Bill

I really like my Toad plain edge. It works great for small task and I've used it for splinters also. It works good for cutting patches to clean my guns with.
