Izula Folder vs. 3-Folder thought

This one is for Jeff and Mike. I know you guys like input from your end users.

Given that neither of these folders exist at this point.....would you be opposed to putting it up to a vote here in the forum as to which we'd like to see produced first?

I'm not going to pretend to understand all the haggling and planning that goes on in the knife business and what is and isn't realistic. I do understand at base though...it's not easy sometimes. Your setback with LionSteel with the 3 folder is a prime example.

At any rate, I know Rowen stepped up and said they'd do the 3. My understanding is the plan was for them to do the Izula folder as well.

Again though, given neither of these exist at this point, would you guys mind the input? Granted, I know there's some protos of the 3...so maybe you're more inclined to go that route first.

Personally, I'd like to see the Izula folder project go ahead first. That's me though. I'd certainly buy a 3 folder, but I think the Izula folder would suit me more personally and quite a few others.

Anyway, thanks in advance for everyone's input. Look forward to either folder.

Personally, I say take your time...it'll come when it comes. I want the best design you all can give.

I'm sure they'll do whatever they have spec'ed out/designed already......either way it's probably going to be at least a year or two out I'd imagine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no hurry either guys. I'm fine with whatever comes out and however long it takes.

My thought essentially was though since it seems ESEE is at square one with either folder, why not get a feel for which the users might like to see first.

make the 3 first the Izula sells well enough as a fixed. but people are chomping at the bit for a good beefy folder like the ESEE 3f

My thought would be there is currently an ESEE-3F folder prototype and the schematics planned out already to produce. They have been carried around and tested to find out what they want for final changes. I don't believe there are any Izula folders in that state.

Understood. I would be fine with either, but if it came down to one I guess it would be the folding 3. Just because I like toting a larger folder better.

1 vote for the esee 4 folder first ;) . I'm happy with the three first the izula is kinda small.

I think when it comes down to the only thing stopping the 3 from being produced at Lion was the PO being sent over, the 3 will be first. I've never carried larger folders, generally heavy and waste pocket space. But who knows, maybe I'll be converted.

I always liked carrying those large Voyager folders. Lots of blade for low weight. But you can get knife sheaths for heavier folders that fit on your belt. I would prefer the ESEE-3 folder.

I get the feeling the 3 Folder is coming first. I may get this one to carry on the weekends, but am a little more excited about the Izula as it can serve as EDC for me.

For me, an Izula folder would fill a great niche (if it's smallish like I imagine)- a tough, well made small folder that is very carry friendly.

Heck I will buy both. But if I had a choice of witch comes first I would choose the Izula folder. I have a RAT 1 folder from Ontario. It is the size of the ESEE 3. It is heavy. I carried it far a month and bought a SOG that was half the weight.

ESEE-3F first I hope. The fixed blade Izula is small enough as it is to carry easily. That I can wait for. The 3 I'm actually excited about.
