They came today!!! I ordered a set of scale of the Izula, rushed got them on,order another pair THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!:) The grip is so so nice! (2 :thumbup:

My second Izula came today, but the place I ordered from was out of stock on the handles, so I broke down this afternoon and ordered some handles from Knives Ship Free.

After having scales on the first one for a few weeks now, I can't have an Izula without scales.

Seems to be a lot of scale buying going one- got mine 2 days ago! The izula feels great with them on, but I have to see how they impact carry this weekend. I love being able to drop the izula in my shorts pocket and go...now I'm wondering if the extra size will impact that....we'll see!

I thought that might be a problem as well. So far, it has not. Neck or pocket carry.

Has anybody tried to dye their scales? I'd like to have a set of black ones to go with my black Izy.

Very good, thank you. I did a search but spelled dying wrong. (DOH!)
Think I'll try that oil dye and see how that works... Sounds as though it will.

you could most likely just use a black sharpie pen to do it

the OP in this thread did that, looks good and is probably quick and easy

I just don't see how that wouldnt bleed all over your hands when wet.

I guess its worth a shot though...for someone other than me.

As for the scales, they fit great, look great, clean up great. I just dont really like how they feel. Paracord wrap feels far, far better in my gorilla hands.

However, the scales stay on. They are durable and easy to clean, and just because they dont feel AS GOOD as a wrap, they still feel alright. Just a little wierd because only 2 fingers fit on the scales, and my ring finger is gripping on the circle.

Yeah I think that micarta looks awesome on a black blade. I guess you could throw them in a stout batch of black RIT dye and see what happens.

My scales.
