Click on medium pics for big pics.

Here are four sizes of CRK Clip Point, barely fitting on the legal size scanner:

And here's the Jereboam with a Kathathu and a couple of Sebenzas for scale:

And here's the Jereboam in something closer to "wallpaper" format with just the two Sebenzas for scale, and the small Sebenza in a better light:

The Jereboam balances just in front of the guard. Sharp, of course. I think it wants to cleave something.

28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:
31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:
32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel. - 1 Kings 11:28-32

As usually, excellent scans!

I just wonder why the Jereboam has the number II. Is there anything like a number I?

And do I understand that right that the spear point 9" knife is called Shadow I? It would be nice to have a list with names and descriptions.

I have a private superstition, that some knives want to have their useful lives begun with some relentlessly peaceful task.

There was a bat mitzvah at our congregation today, where the young lady read, in Hebrew, one of the gorier "sex and violence" paragraphs that the "Good Book" has to offer. And there was a very crusty, twisty, four-foot loaf of bread to be dealt with.

The Jereboam that I had with me had what it took to split the magnum-bread down the middle, and a few times across, into pieces that were then managable by the Sisterhood lady with the Cold Steel Vaquero Grande.

Nobody screamed.

And a few "non-knife" peope pronounced the Jereboam "beautiful." The obvious quality and precision overcame the Evil Black Knife Factor. That, and the fact that I'm a regular there, and known to be eccentric but harmless.

Great pics James, thank you.

This time I'll ask the question directly to the CRK folks. What is the reasoning behind the extended choil on the Jereboam II? As James' first photo in this thread clearly illustrates, the cutting edges on the Jere II and the Project II are nearly identical. I'm not saying I don't like it, I'm just curious.
Kevin, any response to your email on this question?

James:
Always a pleasure to hear from you. Thank you for the great pics. Excellent work as usual! Just wanted to let you know that we are very honored the Jereboam was used at the bat mitzvah and that the "magnum-bread" was split without incident!

Bronco:
In answer to your question, the extended choil on the Jereboam II allows the user to choke up on the blade. By grasping the knife around the cross guard, with the thumb and index finger on either side of the choil, the user can exercise a greater amount of forward control when applying the knife to delicate cutting tasks.

Thanks for the great question!

Mark

I've never felt I have a disadvantage not being Jewish. But when I read about all the fun James has at his services it seems I DO miss something

Let's just hope he doesn't try to use the Jereboam for kosher butchering of cute little lambs!!!

Got My Jereboam II yesterday
