Jim Poplin

Jim is great to deal with. I purchased my Bader BIII variable from him, he beat everyone elses price by OVER $300. He had some very nice Desert Ironwood for sale the the Gulf Coast Knifemakers show, at a good price as well.

Grinders and buffers too. I got my Baldor 3/4 horse from Pop, on Ed Caffrey's recommendation, for a bit under what others charge.

Pop will be at the First annual Lowcountry Hammer In on October 11-12 2002. He will be bringing a lot of supplies.

Something else I like about Pop is that he charges actual shipping. I find that quite refreshing. Most places over charge on the shipping. I expect them to make a profit on the item I buy, but then they inflate the shipping cost and make a profit on that also. Pop is a great guy to buy from. You get personal attention from a very knowlegable knifemaker. Tom Lewis

Hi,
I was in his shop last weekend. He has 4' x 8' yes that is ft. sheets of micarta stock, steel(S30 also), guard material, belts and buffing goodies out the tail end, and a lovely stack of 1.5 and 2hp baders. Also the best price on Tippmanns. Sells Baldor buffers too.
He just got in a shipment of Giraffe shinbone and some really nice olivewood fully figured. He always has nice ironwood and handle material.
He actually has a lot of stuff that is not on his website, so I always call or stop by before looking elsewhere.
He is having a hammer-in/Grind-in I believe it is in October.
Enjoy...Ken
