Hi Folks -
I love folding knives, and when Stomper said that he was going to make some friction folders, I jumped to the front of the line!
I was lucky enough to have Stomper make FF #1 for me.
I have used the knife for various and sundry tasks around the house, and it works out great! I have never owned a friction folder, so I was not sure what to expect.
Stomper's work is outstanding, the blade nests down into the handles nicely. When opened, the spine of the blade is perfectly flush with the handle scales.
The blade was the sharpest I have gotten from Stomper yet, easily shaving the hair from my poor forearm.
I used the knife to cut gaskets out of an old inner-tube, and it sliced through the tough rubber easily.
The olive micarta handle is taking on a used patina, I assume from the oils in my hands and from any meats I have sliced with it.
The knife is easily cleaned under hot running water.
The extended tang-thingy that acts as a stop sticks out quite a ways, which is different for me - it would be great if this knife had a pocket clip to keep it snugged up in the back edge of my pocket, but I never intended to carry this one to work etc.
Here are pictures of the knife:
If you want a folding knife with that JK Handmade flair, here is your huckleberry!
