Nice knife. I love his using folders. They have the right feel when you open them and are relatively slender.

John Smith makes fantastic knives. He gives both his presentation folders AND his working folders an extremely high level of attention….he listens to requests when consulting, and implements these requests effortlessly, or he tells you what might not work, and offers solutions so you wind up with what you want.

I currently own 4 JWS folders….one is for sale, 2 are in the permanent collection, and am carrying and using the fourth(a black carbon handled 3.5" bladed Evolution) as this is written.

I have owned hundreds of knives……have handled folders as good, but none better. The ergonomics are superb, the feel in the hand is secure, without any sharp edges to create "hot-spots". The finger cutouts do exactly what they are supposed to for function, and look nice as well. The beadblasting on the handles and bolsters is considered and balanced for low light reflection, and sustainable aesthetics(looks good, even after carried for 2 months).

As an example…John doesn't just bead blast his carbon fiber….he also gives it a light buff after beadblasting to bring out the depth and contrast. I find his approach highly considered, and methodical.

Am proud to know John, and even prouder that I can own some of his knives.

TKC, that sure is a good looking one that you got there!

Best Regards,
