After being bit by the blade bug and researching what my first top shelf folder would be, I pulled the trigger on a "pre-loved" a 3.5" XM-18 flipper. While I would have preferred to pay closer to retail, I can say knife in hand it is worth the price of admission. My example arrived in like new condition and after spending about 10 careful minutes on a Spyderco Sharpmaker, it is now scary sharp. I bought it to use it and use it hard as it seems to be designed for; it won't be sitting in a drawer or safe. It will be cutting everything from bait to cheese and all medium in between. To attempt any meaningful review would be duplicative...super sturdy, surprisingly smooth and over-solid lock up. Anyone considering the same should feel comfortable taking the plunge.
