And i Love it. 80$ at the local knife/gun/outdoors store. 3$ per battery so i bought 4. Was looking at the g2x pro also, but i went with the all aluminum for durability and i like the way coated aluminum wears through time. I like the lockout feature on it also. How easy is it to scratch surefire lenses? Also, how well does the aluminum/coating hold up to wear and tear, maybe a drop in the driveway or being pushed around on the driveway while under a car? Pocket carry with some sand? I scratched the hell out of my mini mags lenses carrying in pocket.

You can pickup Surefire batteries from as low as $1.50 a piece online. The G2X would hold up more well in terms of showing wear and tear, eg you scratch the black nitrolon and out comes more black nitrolon, whereas scratching a black Type-II anodizing coating will reveal bare metal. The Type-III HA coating on lights like the C2, and E/A/M series lights will hold up the best if you like aluminium. I believe the lens on the G2X/6PX are just a plastic one as opposed to pyrex so it scratches pretty easily.

If you're going to be carrying it a lot on the beach, just get a clip-on sheath.

I have an old incan G2 that I like a lot, so I thought I'd try the 6PX Pro. The finish doesn't hold up well at all. I used the Surefire plastic holster to keep mine on my work belt and the spring metal inside wore off the finish pretty quickly. Also, the dual mode clicker switch has gone from being solid and sure to finicky and troublesome.

I bought a Jetbeam 3M XML and it's twice as bright, significantly easier to switch between brightness levels (twist bezel), and fits in the Surefire holster.

The new lens assembly that Surefire uses is a single piece of plastic. It is difficult to replace the lens with a UCL glass lens and also difficult to find an appropriate solution to put on a stainless steel bezel to prevent bezel dents. My G2X works well but the bezel end is starting to look like a polygon instead of a circle because I've dropped it a few times and it dents it quite significantly. I stick to my old school, user serviceable 6P:thumbup:
The only benefit I like about the new X Pro models is the low mode which is quite useable and useful.

Edit: Oh yes, the lens also scratches very easily, so try not to wipe it clean with an abrasive shirt material or anything. I've had to ask SF for a replacement lens assembly because my old one interfered with the beam pattern.
