And my first, second, and third reactions have been "wow". It's a really serious bit of equipment. Fit and finish appear to be flawless, it came with a nice edge, and the grip is really, really comfortable. Those scales are much better in person.

All in all, I'd say that it's the knife equivalent of my five D-Cell Maglite. Here's a picture of it and my other knives (a cheap chinese lockblade that I've had for nearly twenty years, Victorinox Rucksack, Opinel Effile fillet knife, Gerber 400 multitool, and a spring steel machete that I picked up at a Canadian Tire for $11.00).

Next purchase is probably going tobe a Gransfors Bruks Hunter's Axe.

I to am looking into a good all around chopper type blade. How does it handle rope or plain office paper?

Dunno about rope or paper, but last night I cut up some big cardboard boxes into little pieces to make them better fit into the recycling bin. It just blew right through them.
